Grand Theft Auto, Campus Loop

4 Dimensional multi-media kinetic sculpture and performance

Hunter Stabler and Ian Michael Eckert

Grand Theft Auto, Campus Loop is a multi-media kinetic sculpture and performance created by Hunter Stabler and performed by Hunter Stabler and Ian Michael Eckert. The kinetic sculpture consists of a Jeep Cherokee Sport, wooden throne and two way projection screen, Sony Play Station 2, digital projector, sub woofer and speakers, power cell and ratchet straps. Video cameras were duct taped to the sculpture and to the cyclist camera-person’s helmet for video documentation.

Ian sat atop the sculpture in the throne playing the videogame Grand Theft Auto 3 while Hunter drove the sculpture around the University of Pennsylvania in West Philadelphia. Pedestrians and Motorists could observe the videogame play on the two way screen and hear the violent sound effects of the video game as the sculpture drove down the street.
